Full/Waiting List for August

Rachel earned her Masters degree in clinical counseling from Malone University in 2012 and has worked in both community agencies and private practice.

Rachel has experience working with adults and children with a variety of mental health needs, but is especially interested in working with survivors of trauma and those who have experienced grief/loss. She has been trained through EMDRIA to provide EMDR to those suffering from PTSD. Additionally, she has experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, personality disorders, grief/loss, and PTSD.

She uses an eclectic approach to treat each client that reflects the unique needs of each person. She helps individuals increase insight and awareness of themselves through exploration of fragmentation - believing that increased non-judgmental awareness can bring self-compassion towards each part of self and others. This self-compassion then fuels a life of purpose and meaning that reflects the values of each client and empowers individuals to be their best self.

Depending on the needs of the client, she will use techniques from Internal Family Systems, CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT Interpersonal and Art therapies. Her approach is holistic and person-centered with the primary focus on bringing healing and hope to areas of life that feel stuck, bound and hopeless.

Rachel currently lives in Canton with her husband and 3 young children. She enjoys exploring nature, reading, painting, listening to music and spending time with those she loves.

Welcome to my office…

One day he told me that he’d spent his adulthood trying to let go of his past, and he remarked how ironic it was that he had to get closer to it in order to let it go.

Unlike other forms of psychological disorders, the core issue in trauma is reality.
